Classes Of DSC

Class 1 DSC

It is used for both business & personal usage and applicable to environment where there is a chance for the data to get compromised. This will confirm the user name and email address within the certifying authority database. This provides basic level of assurance but not considered as a major significance.

Documents Required
  • AadhaareKYC Biometric
  • Paper based application form and supporting documents
  • AadhaareKYC OTP + Video Verification. (The Private Key generation and storage could be in software.)

Class 2 DSC

class 2 certificates are also issued for both business and private usage. This will confirm that the information provided by the applicant in the application does not clash with the information in consumer database. This level may have risk of malicious actions and transactions risk. It is generally used for filing IT, ROC & VAT.

  • AadhaareKYC Biometric
  • Paper based application form and supporting documents
  • AadhaareKYC OTP + Video Verification. (Private Key generation and storage must be in Hardware cryptographic device validated to, FIPS 140-2 level 2.)

Class 3 DSC

class 3 certificate is a high assurance certificate which is mainly intended for e commerce application. It can be used by both individuals as well as organizations. Data threat is high in this level and the consequences of failure of security service is high.

  • AadhaareKYC Biometric
  • Paper based application form and supporting documents
  • AadhaareKYC OTP + Video Verification. (The AadhaareKYC OTP and AadhaareKYC Biometric are the verification requirements.)
